Clos Badon Thunevin

SAINT-EMILION GRAND CRU This very old property, renowned since the beginning of the 20th century for its wines of great elegance, was acquired in 1998 by Jean-Luc Thunevin and Murielle Andraud after their resounding success at Château Valandraud. It is technically managed by Murielle Andraud and benefits from the advice of the team of the famous oenologist Michel Rolland.

The 6.5 ha vineyard, located south of the Côte Pavie in St Emilion, stretches over silico-gravelly soils. The grape variety is made up of Merlot (50%), Cabernet franc (40%) and Cabernet sauvignon (10%). The average age of the vines is 30 years (the oldest date from 1954) and the planting density of 6,500 vines / ha.

As in all Thunevin properties, the very careful cultivation combines local traditions and current trends: double Guyot pruning, grassing, plowing, leaf stripping, green harvest, biocontrol …
